Final Portfolio: Social Media Page (Planning & Designing)
When it came to designing and planning our Instagram page rollout for the music video, we decided to take a slightly different route than the conventional approach. While many artists often begin with a series of grid posts to establish the aesthetic, we opted to build anticipation through Instagram Stories first. We kicked things off with two 'Coming Soon' announcements, followed by three carefully crafted teasers, all within the story format. This strategy allowed us to engage directly with our audience in a more dynamic and immediate way, creating a sense of excitement and encouraging interaction. We initially shared this design concept with our WhatsApp group chat, where everyone was on board, allowing us to move forward with the plan. Only after this initial buzz did we transition to our main grid posts and the final 'Music Video Out Now' reveal. It's interesting to note that even artists like Billie Eilish have utilized similar 'Coming Soon' tactics on their Instagram Stories leading up to major releases, reinforcing the effectiveness of building suspense prior to a major launch. We felt this unconventional order allowed us to capture attention and maintain engagement throughout the promotional period, ultimately leading to a more impactful launch
